Calais Truck Stop is open 24/7, 365 days a year. An operations agent processes payments during the hours stated above.
Located in the Transmarck activity zone, CTS is intended for parking goods transport vehicles and includes:
- One entry lane and one exit lane as well as a dual lane
- 430 parking spaces
- A building comprising a reception area for payments and all types of information, a drivers' lounge, toilets, showers and the parking surveillance room

- A video system allowing surveillance of fences and buildings in compliance with the provisions of the Internal Security Code and authorized by prefectural order
- A turnstile filtering "pedestrian" entries
- An automated license plate recognition system (ALPR) at entrances and exits
Article 3 - ENTRIES AND EXITS
Point a. Automated plate reading system
Entry to and exit from the parking area are automated through an optical license plate recognition system (ALPR). An information sign placed upstream of the entry/exit lanes informs the Customer about which lanes to use.
The ALPR system automatically records:
- The vehicle arrival time (tractor and/or trailer)
- The vehicle departure time (tractor and/or trailer)
- The tractor registration number
- The trailer registration number (if applicable)
- The presence of hazardous materials signage plates
This data constitutes the indisputable reference source for determining parking duration and calculating related fees.
Article 4 - RATES, BILLING AND PAYMENT
4.1 RATE DISPLAY
a. Rates and accepted payment methods are displayed on the Calais Truck Stop website, at the entrance and at the site reception. Calais Truck Stop reserves the right to modify rates.
b. The applied rate corresponds to the rate in force on the vehicle exit date.
4.2 SPACE OCCUPANCY BILLING
Parking billing is based on occupied space. Each transport unit (tractor + trailer) or tractor alone constitutes a single billing unit corresponding to one space, regardless of vehicle configuration or respective duration of presence of each element.
4.3 DETERMINATION OF PARKING DURATION
Parking duration is determined by automated reading of the tractor and trailer license plates at the entrance and exit of the establishment by the ALPR system.
Billing is established on the tractor registration plate.
When a tractor and its trailer are not present simultaneously for the entire parking period, billing is based on the longest duration between the two elements of the convoy (longest parking rule).
Illustrative example:
- Tractor present: Monday 08:00 - Monday 14:00 (6 hours)
- Trailer present: Monday 08:30 - Tuesday 10:00 (25h30)
- → Billing: 25h30 for the entire convoy, billed on the tractor plate
4.4 PARKING TIME CALCULATION
a. Parking time is counted by indivisible hour. Any hour started is due.
b. Billing is based on the hourly or daily rate defined in the pricing schedule attached to these General Terms of Sale.
4.5 DISPUTE AND APPEAL
a. The customer has 48 hours from receipt of the invoice to dispute the parking duration calculation or the applied billing.
b. Any dispute must be addressed in writing to the following address:
Calais Truck StopComplaints Department
847 Avenue Henri Ravisse
62730 Marck
c. To be valid, the complaint must be justified, precisely stating the facts, dated and signed by the customer.
d. Calais Truck Stop undertakes to respond to any complaint within 5 working days.
4.6 PROBATIVE VALUE OF RECORDINGS
Data recorded (front-rear plate numbers + front-rear photos, at entry and exit) by the automated license plate reading system (ALPR) are authentic until proven otherwise. In case of dispute, this data constitutes the primary evidence of parking duration and serves as the basis for billing. A video review of surveillance recordings may confirm this information.
4.7 PAYMENT METHODS
a. The customer must pay the parking amount before leaving the parking area according to one of the following methods:
- Payment at the automatic terminal located in the building lounge: bank card (CB)
- Payment at the building reception: fuel cards, SNAP
- Automatic payment on exit at the exit lane: Telepass badge, DKV Box, Eurotoll, or for trucks from companies with a customer account
b. The billed amount is automatically calculated by the ALPR system based on actual parking duration. The customer can check the amount due via reception terminals or with reception staff.
c. In case of non-payment or incomplete payment, access to the parking exit will be blocked. The customer will be invited to regularize their situation at the building reception as soon as possible.
d. Calais Truck Stop reserves the right to prosecute persons who do not pay the parking amount.
Article 5 - TRAFFIC

b. Parking of trailers alone and tractor/trailer detachment
The parking of a trailer alone and detachment of the tractor are authorized after authorization from Calais Truck Stop.
In such cases, customers must obtain prior validation from parking agents.
Billing will be carried out according to the provisions of Article 4.3 of these Regulations: the parking duration retained will be the longest between that of the tractor and that of the trailer (longest parking rule).
The normal parking cost applies, calculated on the maximum duration between the two elements.
Billing is established on the tractor registration plate.
c. Except with express agreement from CTS, in case of so-called irregular, obstructive, abusive or dangerous parking within the meaning of legislative and regulatory provisions in force, the Vehicle may be impounded.
d. Any solicitation, sale, service offer whether free or not, are prohibited in the parking area. Any peddling, canvassing, unpacking, or sale of any objects, posting, distribution of leaflets as well as any unloading of goods or transfer of goods between Vehicles, even partial, are strictly prohibited, except with prior written agreement from CTS.

In case of detection at the entrance, site access will be refused (retention in case of entry). An agent will meet with the driver to accompany them in their immediate escort to the exit lane.
It is prohibited to spread or allow to flow, within the parking area, greasy, flammable or corrosive liquids. In case of accidental spillage and after observation of the incident by CTS, any cleaning and restoration costs will be charged to the person concerned.
Article 8 - LIABILITY - EXCLUSIONS
a. The Customer and any Interested Party are jointly liable for bodily accidents and all property or real estate damage that Vehicles, drivers, passengers or goods could cause, both to parking facilities and to other vehicles, goods and persons present. The Customer driving a Vehicle personally is solely responsible for the incidents mentioned above. Any accident, incident or damage that occurred in the parking area must be reported immediately to CTS reception.
b. CTS is bound by an obligation of means concerning parking surveillance. CTS cannot be held responsible in case of theft and/or damage to Vehicles and/or their elements, accessories, or other property left inside the Vehicle such as cargo. Custody of the vehicle remains under the exclusive responsibility of the customer. The customer should act by taking all reasonable measures to secure the road unit and its goods.
CTS cannot, moreover, be held responsible in case of assault occurring in the parking area.
